The true story of the broadcast that frightened a nation is introduced with a reminder that radio reigned before television. Trick or Treat! The earth is being invaded by aliens! What a great book to teach and amaze kids with the way things were in the "olden days". The excerpts from the actual broadcast are the perfect length to keep the children's attention with the googly-eyed people, reminiscent of the art in pulp magazines of the 1930s the author explains, being almost as creepy as the aliens.
